Tented City was located on Nulandia Farms at the northeast edge of Mitchell, Ontario. Many Thanks to the Van Nuland family for allowing us to use their land for the 2013 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo September 2013 when the country's largest outdoor show came to Perth County. All of us celebrated our rural past and experienced the excitement of emerging opportunities for agriculture and for our communities. Plowing competitions for all ages including a Queen of the Furrow Competition was held.
There was something for everyone in the giant tented city: over 100 acres of exhibits and activities; more than 400 exhibitors and vendors; antiques, education, and country lifestyles displays; including entertainment for all ages.
There was a 1400 RV park site across the road from the Tented City. Thank you to the Seiler family for the use of their land for this park.
Opportunities to see the latest in farm machinery and new technologies, environmental exhibits, keept visitors busy. There were able to purchase souvenirs marking the 100th anniversary of the International Plowing Match.
Over fifteen hundred volunteers helped under the leadership of an Executive of six and twenty-seven Chair Persons.
